In the Piat family, an old dynasty of mauritian businessmen exiled in France, every male is named Édouard. Serge, the youngest member of the lineage, comes back to the island to help his father run the company, and prepare the succession. But he is not the only one returning: so is his grandfather, patriarch of the family, after fourty five years living in France.
